20.20 have been working with leading technology retailer Maplin to change their retail proposition in Cambridge, creating a store where people can fully engage with the latest Smart Home technology.

We have transformed the 290m2 space at the city’s Beehive shopping centre, designing distinct departments to showcase the benefits of, and allow interaction with, smart technology for the home.

The brief was to position Maplin as the go-to retailer for Smart Home products, attracting and engaging with a new type of customer, whilst retaining the retailer’s loyal customer base.

20.20's Creative Director Jon Lee has been asked to mentor at Middlesex University as part of the wider Retail Design World Student Awards.

The second year interior design students have been presented with a brief from Adidas set by Sigrid Brewka-Steeves, Director of Retail Concepts at Adidas Group.

Those shortlisted will be judged by a wider panel. The collaboration is part of the wider Retail Design World Student Awards involving six colleges and briefs from Majestic Wine, Pret a Manger and Adidas.

The shortlist for next year’s Retail Week Awards were announced today and 20.20 were thrilled to see Hobbycraft shortlisted in the category of Store Design of the Year for the flagship store we worked on in, Nugent Shopping Park, Orpington.

Last night the WM Club at Emirates Stadium played host to the final leg of the Design Bites tour run in conjunction with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.

The aim of the tour was to link eating and drinking with cutting edge design and the venues were chosen from those shortlisted for a Restaurant and Bar Design Award earlier this year. 20.20 were of course honoured to be asked to represent the WM Club alongside Arsenal Football Club.

The first stand alone Spudulike restaurant based on the new brand guidelines produced by 20.20, has opened this week in Ilford. This follows the first outlet to use the new brand proposition opening in Westfield Stratford, last month.

The new restaurant can be found in The Exchange shopping centre and incorporates the guidelines and new vision, mission and values we defined for the brand to help them appeal to a broader range of customers.

The roll-out of the new format is set to continue across the UK so look out for a Spudulike near you!

Today marks an extremely exciting day for all in retail as the long awaited Westfield Stratford City opens in London. 20.20 are particularly thrilled as two of the new format stores being unveiled are the fruits of our hard, but enjoyable, labour.

20.20 are thrilled to have been shortlisted for not one but two Retail Interior Awards for our latest work with Liberty on their new Beauty Hall.

We are particularly proud of this achievement considering the new look department only opened for trading last month. The Awards, now in their 14th year are part of Retail Week and recognise the best UK retail interiors and shopfitting. They showcase the tremendous efforts and achievements of retail designers who consistently strive for excellence.

Club Level has done the double this week and bagged its second award in as many days.

After winning the AIS award on Tuesday, there was further cause for celebration when late last night, in the splendid setting of the Camp Nou in Barcelona, Club Level won ‘Project of the Year’ at the Stadium Business Awards.

The glittering awards ceremony took place during the Stadium Business Summit in front of an audience of more than 220 senior sports industry professionals from around the globe.
