20.20 work with Halfords on store of the future

20.20 have been working with Halfords on a new store concept that opened last November in Derby.

Brought in by Elmwood who were working on the new brand 20.20 were asked to redesign the customer experience looking at improving the service offer and WeFit strategy as well as the look and feel of the store.

Paul O’Hara, store development director at Halfords, said “We’ve chosen to prioritise the customer experience, dedicating a practical and comfortable area for customers to use while they wait for a bulb, wiper-blade or battery to be fitted. There will also be a dedicated trade card point for loyal business customers.”

The cycling area of the store will have a new ‘Smart Fit’ centre, where customers aged eight and above can have their measurements taken virtually to find the perfect bike for them. The store will also have space for people to ‘try before they buy’, allowing them to test any bike prior to purchase.
