Mariann Wenckheim delivers keynote speech at EFMI Retail Conference

Mariann Wenckheim, partner and director at 20.20, delivered a keynote speech at the yearly retail conference of EFMI Business School in Nunspeet, Netherlands last week.

EFMI is a Dutch business school that focuses its research and executive programs entirely on management issues in the food industry and is affiliated with the University of Groningen.

The central conference theme was ‘Think Different’. Other keynote speakers included Professor Jan-Benedict Steenkamp from the University of North Carolina and Mr. Piet Smit, director of the Dutch regional food retailer Poiesz Supermarkets.

Mariann’s speech centered around the latest trends and innovations in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of UK food retail, which continues to maintain its position as the global leader in the adoption of new ideas, the development of innovative concepts and the introduction of the latest cutting edge technologies - that are often replicated in other territories. 20.20 case studies she referred to included our recent work with the award winning large format retailer Pets at Home.

Marcel van Aalst, director of EFMI Business School said: “We were delighted to have Mariann as an international keynote speaker at our conference. In her very inspiring talk, she provided the attending 200 executives from Dutch food retailers and brand manufacturers with valuable insights from the UK and other European countries. Mariann’s talk demonstrated the fact 20.20 is a leading strategic design consultancy in retail and leisure."
