Mariann Wenckheim and Simon Liss will be speaking alongside Doug Glenwright, Head of Retail Transformation at Thomson Holidays on the first day, exploring how we worked together to reinvent the travel agent…

 

Our work with Thomson Holidays beat off the competition last night to be crowned digital store of the year at the BT Retail Week Technology awards. The store saw off some stiff competition on the night from Argos, House of Fraser, Marks & Spencer, and the Co-operative.

Our work with Thomson has been shortlisted for this year’s BT Retail Week Technology Awards in the Digital Store of the Year category.

The awards will see the countries top retailers recognised for their efforts in applying technology within retail spaces.

Dennis Bergkamp Statue Arsenal

Footballer and Arsenal Legend, Dennis Bergkamp was immortalised in bronze last week at the Clock End of Emirates Stadium to join tributes to fellow footballing heroes, Herbert Chapman, Tony Adams and Thierry Henry. Following a friendly tip-off from Henry that the unveiling would be an emotional moment, Bergkamp spoke fondly of his years at Arsenal, commenting that although his statue stands alone, it was the whole team that made him shine during his 11 years at the Club.

Official statistics published today reveal that the UK’s creative industries are now worth £71.4 billion per year to the UK economy.

• Growth of almost 10% in 2012, outperforming all other sectors of UK industry
• Accounted for 1.68 million jobs in 2012, 5.6 per cent of UK jobs

Thompson's Bluewater store, designed by London design consultancy 20.20

Thomson’s Next Generation Store (NGS) opened today at Bluewater. The first in a nationwide roll-out of a new connected retail concept for the world’s leading leisure travel company. Set over 2,187 square feet, the newly designed store integrates the latest technology combined with great service to enhance the experience of choosing and booking a holiday.

Created in partnership with 20.20, the NGS has been designed around an innovative customer centric brand experience that delivers high-touch service supported by high-tech tools.

The Design Business Association (DBA) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new President, Jim Thompson, Managing Director of 20.20.

Last night (5th September 2013) Jim performed his first official duty as DBA President- his acceptance speech. 20.20 and the DBA all look forward to the changes he will be making.

There is little doubt that Danny Boyle's visionary Olympic Opening Ceremony reaffirmed London's position as the creative capital of the world – and did so on an international stage.

In gratitude, 20.20 decided that the Lancashire-born director and producer deserved to be awarded his very own gold medal for outstanding creative achievement.

The site has been redesigned to appeal to fashion conscious mums and children, and the customer journey has been optimised to improve multi channel sales. The site is one of the first to provide an integrated social and ecommerce experience.

The site has been rolled out to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Holland.

Prenatal’s website is the final channel to have been updated with 20.20’s brand, following the success of the redesigned stores and catalogue.

Situated in a former bank vault in the heart of The City, a small and exclusive group of guests attended the 20.20 Gamification Dinner. Co-hosted by Badgeville, the evening was full of stimulating conversation, networking and enlightenment into how gamification can engage customers, affect their behaviour and drive both sales and loyalty.

The evening was a great success with some really positive feedback:

The Garfunkel’s Coffee House website that 20.20 designed has gone live today. The site accompanies the first coffee shop offering from Garfunkel’s that opened in Edinburgh just before Christmas.

20.20 worked on the brand identity and communications for both the virtual and physical site for this new coffee concept. Having already developed a new identity and communications suite for the Garfunkel’s restaurant brand, we were then asked to turn our attentions to the Coffee House after a clear opportunity for a format like this was identified in Edinburgh.

20|20 have designed a mobile app for popular restaurant chain Frankie & Benny’s which is available to download free from iTunes.

Initially the app will have three core functionalities: a restaurant locater, menu information and offers and promotions but the plan is to develop it even further in the coming months by introducing more brand interaction through elements like recipes and games.
