WM Club is fitting finale to RIBA Design Bites
Last night the WM Club at Emirates Stadium played host to the final leg of the Design Bites tour run in conjunction with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards.
The aim of the tour was to link eating and drinking with cutting edge design and the venues were chosen from those shortlisted for a Restaurant and Bar Design Award earlier this year. 20.20 were of course honoured to be asked to represent the WM Club alongside Arsenal Football Club.
Creative Director Jon Lee, lead designer Dan Leach and Commercial Operations Director for Arsenal Ben Kensell, led the tour after an introduction from Head of Marketing for Arsenal, Charles Allen.
Guests began their tour in the Centurions Lounge to get a ‘before’ picture of the Club Level spaces we developed so they could fully appreciate the transformation that has taken place. They were then led through to the Woolwich Suite, followed by the Foundry restaurant, culminating in the WM Club. In each space they were given detail about the brief, strategy and inspiration for the design.
The group ranged from architects, designers, restaurateurs and members of the general public, all of whom would not normally get access to this premium and exclusive space. The general consensus was mainly surprise that a fine dining experience such as this even existed within a football stadium and also appreciation of the in depth consideration and thought that is behind every design detail, material, graphic, fixture and fitting.
Susie Barson, Team Leader at English Heritage commented afterwards, “The interior spaces that were fitted out by the guys at 20.20 were awesome. When the history behind each element of Club Level is revealed and the closer you look, you realise just how much thought and creativity has gone into each space, yet they all work together so well.”
