On the 26th September 2012 baby specialist Kiddicare opened the first of ten new superstores in Nottingham’s Castle Marina Retail Park, marking the first time a pure-play has made the radical transition from e-commerce to cross-channel model. .
20.20 worked closely with Kiddicare’s brand director and creative team to create a store experience that uses retail theatre to bring to life the adventure and joy of having a baby
Following on from our earlier blog on our favourite exhibitions at Tent, our designers then went on to the V&A to see what was being shown there. See below- four further favourite exhibits.
4. Ear Chairs Studio Makkink & Bey (Rianne Makkink and Jurgen Bey) 2003. The Ear Chairs found at V&A, received a major interest from the public. The designers have managed to create an environment, which captures more of a personal connection between those who are sitting in the chairs.
Emirates & Arsenal Football Club opened their first shared brand sports bar this summer. The space was the first collaboration between Club and Sponsor, and celebrates Arsenal and Emirates’ global reach.
20.20’s concept was to engage with Arsenal fans around the world and capture their journeys on match day. A global photoshoot was commissioned to help showcase fan stories in Emirates destinations - from a train journey in Mumbai to a cafe in South Africa - allowing fans in the Emirates bar on match day to understand what their fellow supporters get up to.
The Connell Club at Manchester City F.C. has been shortlisted in the Standalone Restaurant category of the Restaurant & Bar Awards 2013.
These popular awards are highly regarded, receiving entries from the world’s top architects, designers and hospitality operators. Judges consist of the most influential personalities and have included the editors of Wallpaper and Frame magazines, Karim Rashid and Alberto Alessi.
German brand Strauss Innovation, established in 1902, has just launched a concept store in Leipzig to showcase its new brand proposition and store experience.
CEO, Paula Minowa with her team embarked to reinvent the brand in order to make it more relevant to both new and existing customers. 20.20 have worked closely - and bilingually - with the Strauss team to help define, articulate and visualise their brand and store proposition. The outcome needed to be true to the brand’s DNA and unique to the German market.
Last week the winners of the World Mail Awards 2013 were announced, and our friends at Austrian Post were named among the chosen few. The judges awarded Austrian Post with the retail project award for its “use of new technology and well thought through logistics to provide improved convenience and accessibility for customers, together with increased revenues and profits. They [Austrian Post & 20.20] made sure that they got customer feedback during implementation so that they got it right!”
Open for business for just forty-eight hours, American brand, J. Crew have set up a blink-and-you’d-miss-it pop up in King’s Cross in anticipation of their debut London flagship store, due to open on Regent street in November. This industrial space in the Western shed was chosen to celebrate the announcement of a collaboration with Central St Martins College of Art and Design, and provides a blank canvas for J. Crew to prove its fashion mettle with a fresh audience of British consumers. Let’s hope they’re getting used to the weather.
